SovereignZome designs and builds off-grid sovereign structures in southern Norway. The natural starting point is a 3m zome — a workshop, studio, or first sovereign asset — with composting toilet, water, power, and heating infrastructure already installed. That infrastructure then supports a larger 6m dwelling when you are ready to build it. The network provides the knowledge, the skills exchange, and the community that makes it possible. For existing plot holders in the network who have land but not yet infrastructure — that capability is now available for the first time.

What sovereignty means

Sovereignty is both an inner and outer practice. The outer work is practical — land, structure, food, water, energy less dependent on centralised systems that generate increasing dependency. Why a zome

Efficient geometry

Maximum volume per unit of material. Built from flat modular panels — light enough to carry, simple enough to build by hand.

Height where you need it

A dome at 3m gives a ceiling of 1.5m. A 3m zome stands 3m tall. Full standing height from the smallest footprint.

Warm in winter

The spherical form loses less heat per cubic metre than any rectangular building. Geometry, not expensive insulation.

Transportable

Panels carried by one or two people. No crane. No truck access required.

Psychologically alive

Research confirms curved spaces reduce anxiety and increase creativity. The round room feeds the soul in ways a box does not.

Southern Norway is the location of the premier site. Within 60 minutes from the port town of Kristiansand — with ferry connections to Denmark and direct road links to mainland Europe. Close enough to reach easily. Remote enough to matter.

The people who established these sites have already put in serious infrastructure work. A sacred nature path running through the land — built by people who see themselves as custodians, not consumers. While we are early to build a fully sovereign off-grid structure here, the scope is enormous. The network is forming.

The network

The zome is the mushroom.
The network is the mycelium.

The mycorrhizal fungal network has been on Earth for over 400 million years. It predates every human institution — money, government, law, the financial system — by an almost incomprehensible margin.

It has survived every mass extinction event in Earth’s history. Each time, the dominant species above ground collapsed. The network below survived, adapted, and continued.

It was here before money. It will be here after.

The mycorrhizal fungal network is the oldest partnership on Earth. And it encodes two principles that no human institution has matched for durability.

Above ground, each mushroom is a complete, sovereign organism. It does not need the network to exist. Sovereignty comes first. A network of dependent nodes has no resilience.

Below ground, the mycelium connects nodes that chose to connect. No central authority. No coercion. Nutrients flow freely between sovereign nodes through connections formed by natural affinity. This is voluntaryism.

Sovereignty enables voluntaryism. You cannot participate fully in a voluntary network until you are sovereign. This is why SovereignZome begins with reclaiming — and builds the network from that foundation.

The things that matter most between sovereign neighbours have never had a price — and never will. These are the things worth passing on.

The economics of freedom

SovereignZome is built on a different premise.

Not more. Less — but less of the right things. Reducing dependency is more durable than increasing income. A person who needs less is more free than a person who earns more.

Everything required for independent living on a forest plot

This is not a price per m². It is the price for a complete off-grid infrastructure — everything needed to live independently on a forest plot, delivered ready to assemble.

The 3m zome panels and struts arrive pre-cut and numbered — the structure goes together like Lego. No specialist carpentry required. 12m² of terracing materials included.

The utility systems arrive separately — assembled, configured and fully tested in our workshop before delivery:

→ Power system — 24V LiFePO4, control cabinet, Bluetooth monitoring

→ Water filtration system — collection, filtration, RO drinking water

→ Diesel heating system — Sunstar unit, remote control, heat recovery

→ Control system — water automation, sensors, three-position switch

→ Sanitation system — separations toilet, ventilation, compost collection

Most people can assemble pre-cut panels. Almost nobody can commission a 24V off-grid control system, a multi-stage water filtration stack, or a diesel heater with heat recovery. That specialist work is done before delivery.

The panels fit together without specialist carpentry. The utilities plug in without specialist wiring. We remove the complexity.

Why act now

→ The best plots are finite. Some have majestic views, some easy access, some plentiful water. First participants have access to the most favourable plots. That access cannot be recreated later at any price.

→ Network wisdom is most accessible now. While the community is small, relationships are close and knowledge transfers directly. That intimacy does not scale.

→ Skills brought now are more valued. Early participants shape the culture and direction of the network in ways that later arrivals cannot. That influence is only available to founders. Every capable person who joins also strengthens every existing node — early members benefit from all future members. Late members do not have that compounding.

→ The price of delay is not zero. Every year of continuing to pay rent, utility bills, mortgage interest, and inflation is a year of capital building someone else’s asset, not yours. The person who waits a year does not return to the same choice. They return to what remains.

→ Converting a hard asset into sovereign structure is not selling — it is exchanging one form of stored value for a more complete one. Hard assets hold value outside the custody chain. Land and structure hold value outside both the custody and valuation chains. The conversion is a step up in sovereignty, not a step out. → The service window is open now — for the first time. The build knowledge, access solutions, and off-grid infrastructure capability that make a plot genuinely liveable are available now. Early plot holders who chose plots for the views but lacked practical access are only now able to realise what they acquired. That capability cannot be assumed to remain available indefinitely as the network fills.

Around 70% of available plots have already been reserved — many by early participants drawn to the views but not yet connected to the build capability. That capability exists now, for the first time.
